Types of Kitchen Tables To Consider When Decorating

Kitchen Tables Showcase

Your kitchen décor will benefit from the right table whether it be farmhouse tables, kitchen bistro table, granite kitchen table or breakfast nook kitchen table. Matching the right furniture to you decorating theme is a key ingredient in pulling the look together. Here's some tips on the types of tables you might want depending on your theme.

Farmhouse kitchen tables are rugged country style tables, usually made of pine with solid turned legs. They can be wood or painted wood, usually with a distressed finish. These go with many kitchen decorating themes including country, french country, roosters or other country animals, tuscan and lodge - rustic kitchen décor to name a few. These are great paired with simple ladder back chairs or benches. You can even mix and match different chair styles around a table for an informal look.

A Kitchen Bistro Table refers to a small round table, usually with a glass top and metal legs. It can be a tall table or regular height. This is perfect for a bistro or café style kitchen and can even go with tropical or Italian chef décor. Some bistro tables are made out of wood with matching bar stools, but I like the metal and glass ones as you can match funky bar stools with themed backs to them. I also like the look of the pub style with extra tall bar stools to match.

Modern or country décor can use granite kitchen tables, in fact an Italian or Tuscan style kitchen will do well with this type of table too. These tables are very heavy but extremely durable. I wouldn't buy one if I liked to move my table around to different spots to get a different look, but they are very easy to clean and will stand up to almost anything. Of course, if you have little ones, you'll want to be careful with them around the edges and corners.

A breakfast nook kitchen table can be used in almost any type of kitchen depending on the style of the nook. You could go country with a pine one, or modern with a sleek beech wood style. Add some distressed paint and it will fit right in to your French country or Italian style kitchen.
